Just finishing up the knife swap and it was great. I got 2 knife kits for the swap. 1 tanto style knife and 1 folding knife. I found some knife scales on ebay with uv glow resin in them. I decided to use these on the tanto blade with brass pins. I finished these scales with woodturners finish. I just started casting resin for pen blanks and such so I cast a block and used that as the scales for the folding knife. I also made a pen out of a different block of resin that I cast and polished up with my micromesh pads. The pen is a baron rollerball I got in a subscription box from berea hardwoods.

These knives and the pen turned out great, and I’m proud to be the recipient of your work. The glow effect is really interesting, and the matching pen and pocket knife will be nice to carry around. I appreciate all the work that went into these items, thanks a lot.

These are remarkable Kevin. The UV is such a nice touch. Thanks for taking part in this swap!

Neat stuff, Kevin! I wouldn’t have thought to make a pen to match a knife, but now that idea’s in my head…

Really nice work on the swap items Kevin! The scales on the tanto would be cool to see in person. Does the whole handle glow? Very nice.
