Wife and I discussed me making pens for all the nieces and nephews. There will be a total of eight needed over the years. I have two nephews graduating this coming year. We really like those wood tones with bluish acrylics. So I asked, Eugene Soto, to make me a dozen Mutt blanks.
These are two of them. We decided however to make all the boys this kind with the Jr. Gent, Rhodium. But we’ll make the girls Zen pens with Diamond Cast. I’ll just work on them over the next year. Just in case something happens to me… they will all get a pen for graduation.

Those Mutts are really nice.
Years ago I bought a swag from Bear Tooth Woods for high end pens… Unfortunately most of the people I know use the 50ยข biros and they’d just be wasted.
Hope the kids graduate on queue and the pens are not sitting gathering dust… and ink drying.

Thanks… I understand. I use to try to sell, but most people don’t understand the high quality pen. So, I just make them as gifts. If you don’t get into the right market to sell… it’s not worth it.

If you have a good salesperson in the family, I found that when I lived in the city (Melbourne, now I live in a 1.5 kangaroo town… the .5 got run over at night following the chicken to cross the road), office call to “professionals” like solicitors, politicians etc… pays dividends… they all love to rake in the money, however, find it hard to ignore a status symbol. A lot could barely writel their own name but admitted they looked good sitting on their desktop (unused). I moved many Emperor, Imperial, Majestic, Statesman and like for a fair exchange. Had trouble keeping up with demand… and then I moved to the country and my salesman (daughter) resigned.
