Probably the largest thing I’ll ever build, I spent the last few months building a shed. The mower I bought is wider than 60” with the bagger on, and standard sheds from the box store don’t have doors wide enough. Dimensions are 8’ wide by 12’ wide (my town doesn’t require a permit up to 100 square feet) by 8’ tall, before the roof pitch. It’s intended to be drive through and the doors are full width in the front and back. (In spring I’ll add the 2nd ramp.) Because there are no front or back walls I needed to add heavy duty headers in the front and back, beef up the corners with double California corners, and put 45 degree supports between every stud and roof rafter. It’s already stood up to 70 mph gusts so I guess it passed the test. I cheated on the foundation and went with deck blocks. The roof is steel panel with an 18/12 pitch, so it should shed snow. The siding is T1-11 and finished with Thompson’s water seal in cedar. The window is a $35 purchase from the re-store. In spring I’ll add the back ramp and some trim.

I like the “Drive Through” design…..

Thank you Madmark.

HearingImpaired, That was actually my father’s suggestion. I liked it too.

Sweet, like the drive through option.
