A spiffy and lighter version of the workpiece riser.
https://www.lumberjocks.com/topics/311395
The original weighed 15 lbs.; this one only 7. Just scrap cherry and plywood, but it came out looking better than I thought. The three heights are 20, 15 and 10 inches. And as required, it is a pretty good beer drinking height (as demonstrated). Sprayed with Varathane.

The corner triangle has a knob that is co planar with all the faces, so will not stick out above andinterfiere with any piece. The angle on the sides of the triangular insert is 54 degrees to match up with the three 90 degree corners.

Still wish it had a cool name.

Clever use of a multi height box for the shop. I don’t understand the knob corner. It looks cool and I understand that it does not stick above any of the three surfaces, but is there an intended use for it? An aide in clamping perhaps, or a saddle horn to keep from falling off when you have had to many rounds of beer with your planes? ;)

Nice collection of planes by the way.

I was puzzled by the knob too. But then I realized – it is a handle, cool looking handle. And it is usable from any position! Very clever design!

You got it, just a (complicated) handle instead of finger holes. I hadn’t thought of the saddle horn, very good.

Nice design work here! I like your weight reduction efforts and the handle. I need to remember this if/when I need it.

Now—- how to make it fold up for storage…

Nice! I must admit that I wish my planes would buy me a beer. It’s the least they can do after I hone them.

Nice work, very handy little stool, work holder, height adjustable Benchmate.

As a machinist, I’ve been using 1-2-3 blocks since 1980. never thought to upscale one like that. Awesome idea. I will make one. I’ll steal what I can from yours and improvise the rest with what I’ve got laying around. Great work.(But technically yours is a 1-1.5-2 box.)

Yes, it is, but “one – one and a half – two” just doesn’t roll off the tongue.
It’s all improvisation, did you see the first one? sheesh

Two things – remember: beer/pondering height and it’s still looking for a cool name.

Well, if you listen to music while drinking your beer and pondering, you could call it a” ...Two, three, four…”Box. Ratio wise it fits.
