I made this out of curly maple and walnut, it is 16” wide by 10” high by 8” deep. I finished it with 3 coats of amber shellac.

Beautiful grain patterns, exceptionally intriguing design, and excellent joinery. I’m curious how you hinges the middle set of drawers?

Answer to mdzehr’s question, i used 1/4” brass rod in the back corners.

I also should mention that you push in on the deviider between the two swing out drawers, to slide out the bottom drawer.

Nice box, awesome wood, and incredible implementation. Reading through I see it’s something of a magic door, puzzle box affair as well. Nice work.

Very nice, great grain use and selection, and the shellac is the perfect finish.

I would like to state that i built this from the inspiration i got from Third Coast Craftsman’s Jewelry Box. I made a few changes to make it my own.
