Pair of Bookcases, Final Phase

Here’s the final phase of my custom cabinet project: adding bookcases to set on the bases. I’ve included the 1/4” to 12” scale drawing I made in preparation for this. I started with a 100 year old roll top desk. I had to fit Both cabinets this specific 119 1/2” space as can be seen.
I like using 1/4” graph paper because it allows me to quickly establish limiting dimensions and then work out the design within those parameters. I made other drawings to work out details, but always came back to reference this one so I wouldn’t get off track.

These turned out very nice! Nothing beats the satisfaction of making your own furniture.

Its great you can make your own drawings. I like the way the tops match the old roll top desk.
