Wanted to make a herringbone bone pattern for awhile originally was going to make a coffee table but decided to make a tray with that pattern instead. Had leftover pieces so I made the smaller squarish one in a tile pattern. Epoxied the inside of both due to the fact that a 1/2” was not a 1/2” on the two different types of wood used. The two different woods were aspen and poplar using three or four different colors of stain. After looking at the prestained picture it would have turned out better with a clear coat instead.
