Boxes....for Optical Center Punches

I had made 2 optical center punches and decided to make some storage boxes for them. While I was at it I made two more center punches using African Blackwood ( last shot)

The first one was the light colored one made from wormy female box elder with the housing laying on its side. The next 3 are made from mesquite with the punches standing up in the hole.

The openings have been coated with black flocking to protect from wear. They are all finished with Danish Oil and buffed and waxed.

Cheers, Jim

I like the Blackwood although must admit I’d never seen it before. I also like the rose color in the boxelder. Nice touch with the flocking.

Those are really nice! I had to look up what an optical center punch is—seems like a very useful aid.

They are a neat addition to a great little tool JJ.

I also like the blackwood… maybe you should paint the plastic rods black to match the wood.

A good idea to protect the equipment you use. Nice little storage boxes.

I was right with you. For anyone else living in a cave, this is the quick trip to understanding.

Certainly looks like if you miss the mark using one of these you need to get some pills to stop the shakes. Otherwise known as a brilliant layout, positioning, and marking tool.

Jim’s are Mo betta because they have nice houses.
