I saw the plans in a wood magazine that I subscribe to, and I thought it was a neat design, so I decided to give it a try. Really like the finished product. Had some 3/8” Red Elm sitting around, so I combined it with Walnut. The arched legs are pretty cool. That’s the part of the design that I really like. They attach to the box with 1/4” oak dowels. The directions called for aluminum rods, but I did not go that way. There is a template in the directions that you use to drill into the box itself and the arched legs. You attach the template to some 1/4” plywood, drill three holes and then use on both the box and legs, so the holes match up. Used spray-on poly for a finish.

Nice – I think I like this one over the previous one

I also like the arch. Makes it very distinctive. How was it made? Template and then pattern routed?

Looks great, like the curved legs also. Makes it stand out. The pull looks like it could lift some weight with the design. Great job

Arch legs are definitely a win, but I also like how they attach in a floating style. This design would be cool to scale up to a coffee table sized chest. Well done.
