I saw this keepsake box plan in a recent issue of Wood Magazine. It looked kind of neat, so I gave it a try. I used Red Elm and Walnut that I had scraps of. The handle and the feet certainly give its distinctive feature. Used spray-on poly for the finish.

Very nice work.

Too bad about the finish blemish on the top. :(

I’ve ruined more projects at finishing time than anywhere else.

Is why I like a paste wax finish. Essentially impossible to screw up.
