Another early attempt at making something more refined – while also having fun making bookmatched Cedar panels. The heart shape is what makes this otherwise simple box a little more interesting. It became a gift to my DIL on their 6th wedding anniversary. Nothing fancy…

Thanks all – got a nice pile of short but wide Cedar trunk planks from my sawyer for a bargain, just $10. Will be looking into more boxes with this great species during the winter months. Bookmatching this wood is full of surprises and really make such personal items more interesting.

Love that Cedar panel. I’m not sure I wouldn’t have shown the Rorschach blot side though. :-)
