This is my first sofa table with a challenge – to split the Maple slab and remove a huge check – and rejoin it with a Walnut accent. Other than that, it’s just a simple trestle design to bring a live edge into a modern expression. Should fit any decor easily behind the sofa or along a wall.

Yup – right at 6’ long. Gluing up that Walnut strip was a chore but was easier than joining the two Maple pieces by themselves. I made a second table just like without the Walnut piece and it went much easier.

Very nice! Has that ‘rustic chic masculine” feel about it.

Nice table and tight joinery!
