A nice clock Brian, the matte adds a lot of depth – cool

I like that matte also, but hey, that QS Cherry talks plenty loud enough to be heard too. Whoever pays attention to backs, nice. Simplicity, just as the Brothers would have liked it, but with enough bling to make them smile a bit too.

Looks very nice, clean lines, and the cherry sets it off. Great job

Thank you all for the kind comments – to be clear, this is a simplified design from a more involved Shaker design that appealed to me as a modern version of a classic clock. The original design uses a polished brass matte, which I don’t have access to, so the metallic matte at a Hobby Lobby was a nice alternative. I spent more attention to the details on this project and it paid off this time. I’ll post another clock I made next…

Clever design. I really like it, and it has an almost 3-D look to it. Good job !!! Mel

hi Bstrom, can you post a link to the product you used at Hobby Lobby? I’d like to do something similar!

Just look at the matte boards they sell in their store – this was a gold metallic called Gold Coin, I think. Should be easy to find – but it cost me $20 to get it reverse bevel cut!
