The first spoon I ever made about three weeks ago is mesquite. There are more mesquite trees in my area of
Texas as of the last count than all the fire ants. This was a scientific roll call done by me personally…

I started on the maple spoon and I added leaves here and there and that night I decided to change them to grapes. Not real hard to do for I just carved a little deeper in to the wood… They are 13 and 15” long I think?? Water base paint thinned down to go through the air brush with about 20 lbs. of pressure. Then a couple of coats of clear lacquer. The mesquite spoon I found a picture on Pinterest and the other one I designed.

I dropped the larger spoon and lost a piece of the heart on top. I was going to leave the center of the heart out but with me making a small piece to go in the area missing I decided to put the center of the heart back in for extra strength.

Beautiful work!
Great carving on the maple, great design. The mesquite may be my favorite though. That is beautiful wood.
