I’ve been playing with my new scroll saw but forced myself to get the truck off the shelf and finish it up today, lol
The blog is here.
I’m glad I had just enough oak to get it done as the oak really helps show off the trucks shape.
One coat of Danish natural to seal the wood then wiped on some danish oil in the walnut finish to make the oak pop. This way the project doesn’t get to dark and show up blotches, but be careful, doing it this way with maple or the like will just make it look dirty so be sure to do a test first.
These were some old plans I found and there are a couple more that look interesting.

My gosh I like this. I made an attempt at making a truck without a PO door, just didn’t work out too well. Yours really hit the mark. Now I have a new inspiration to try. I too seem to really like the way oak looks on these.
