My sister wanted a headboard to match the tops of the windows. I used very thin wood to make the curve. It is 3-D, top board, bottom board and a side board. I think it was 2 or 3 inches deep. The spokes were a little tricky. I needed my brother in laws help to mount it as it was kind hard to handle, but we got it mounted. I think it matches the windows perfectly., kind of slick!
