My grandfather was a woodworker. After he passed, I inherited his Shopsmith and the stand he built. The Shopsmith went away but I kept the stand and have been slowly building projects for his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids with the wood (I believe redwood).

The first was these boxes for my mom, aunt, and uncle. I kept one for myself. Not pictured are the jewelry boxes and wooden toys.

I made some boxes much like these from some wood that my Dad had collected before he passed away. I gave them to his grandkids and my sister. From my experience I can tell you that your boxes will be cherished, probably for generations. Great job!

I agree.
Beautiful gifts and instant heirlooms.
Great boxes.
