My 10 year old daughter wanted to make a box for a gift and needed some help. She had a very clear view of the final design (important with the leather strop on the lid). We made the box together while I was trying to explain the different steps, tool options, etc. I hope that she learned something (like the importance of clean 45 degree angles…) and that it will be useful in woodworking class in school.

The lid has a “squeze fit” too keep it in place when the box is handled.

The box is made from red oak (off-cuts from an old project ).
No finish, just natural.

Your daughter did a good job, she should be proud of her work. Dad should be proud of his daughter.
Good teamwork.

Glad to hear your daughter has access to a woodworking class in school, and too, that she is interested in taking it.

Nice little box and hopefully it won’t be your daughters last!

Thanks for the comments. Just read them for my daughter and she appreciated them very much! “This is not my last box dad” she said.
