Quarter-Sawn Oak Coffee Table

A friend of mine commissioned this piece for his loft apartment. It’s quarter-sawn white oak with a 1/8” welded steel frame. It weighed about 200 pounds when assembled.

Nice hefty table.

It looks like it measures 4 ft x 4 ft X 18 in high.

Is the top and bottom separate items that are bolted together. That would make it easier to move. The only thing I would have done differently is to make the triangle reinforcing corners on the frame curved instead of straight.

Looks like a great table to play board games and eat pizza off of. You can keep your drinks on the lower level to keep spills off the board.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. My grandson who is taking welding in high school built a angle iron coffee table for me which I will use mahogany for the tops. Anyway, your table is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
