My sister retired from teaching this year and I made her a keepsake box as a retirement gift. The box is walnut with jarrah trim and the hardware is Brusso. There are two lift out trays with different sized compartments.

Beautiful Box!
I’m sure she loves it. The jarrah is nice against the walnut. Its larger than I first thought.
Great build.

I presume that’s a Brusso latch. I have some and wonder if you used their jig to do the mortise, or just your own? Also, did you install that latch with epoxy, or how?

Beautiful walnut, beautiful work.

I used they Brusso jig and then two part epoxy to secure the latch to the box. I used painters tape around the latch mortise to prevent any epoxy squeeze out from gettin on the finish
