My son wanted to learn how to make a karambit, so instead of starting with metal, I figured let’s start with wood. I’ve never made any knives before, let alone a karambit, but I am fairly familiar with them.
So I grabbed some scrap poplar and sapele (because that’s what I had in somewhat appropriate dimensions) and off we went… it was a fun, and somewhat easy project, especially considering I had to freehand design the piece while trying to make it fit his hand.

Looks great but the edge could use a little sharpening. It’s good to see younger people getting into the craft.
