For the 2020 LJ BBQ Swap I created a Box of BBQ Tricks that went to LJ’r Keebler in TX. The box made of a mix of woods with the exotics locally harvested from the offcut bin at Woodcraft. The top is Wenge with a Maple strip in the center..

Inside – some fun stuff. A Wine Stopper in Readheart. a bottle opener, BBQ pigtail. Spatula and Spoon in locally harvested Cherry soaked in oil and sun, a “Pinch Bowl” and a German style knife with locally harvested Ironwood (Hop Hornbeam) scale.

Overall a fun bunch of “BBQ Tricks” to make and once again happy I got in the Swap. Check out the stuff I got in MikeACG’s project post.

Btw, if you haven’t yet joined an LJ Swap, you should do yourself a favor and jump on board. They are fun and you get to meet a lot of people – Next one is a “Beer Swap”” I believe and will be open SOON!!

You certainly win a prize for variety Bill! What a great collection of BBQ swapping goodies!
And now you have also shamed me into posting my project… I had to work yesterday so it got pushed back a bit. I’ll get on it this morning! Probably have to include some teaser pics from the projects that didn’t make the final cut…
See you on the 8th! I’m getting thirsty just thinking about it!

Very nice set! All you would need for a BBQ. Great job!

That is a very nice swap entry Bill! I’m drawn to the German style knife, I love the shape of it. I also like the pattern you did on the spoon handle, looks comfy.

I had never seen a BBQ pigtail before. For other BBQ challenged, see video below for a complete use on several food items. Nice box-o-gifts

Very cool package Bill!! The box is a great way to wrangle it all up too. I especially like the carved spoon and spatula. I know what a PITA carving a spoon can be ;-)

Got any more pics of that knife? I like the simple shape and the long, tapered, bent handle. It’s not like any typical knife I’m familiar with but it looks like just the trick for a lot of culinary duties :-)
