I have made a number of beds. Six, if I remember correctly. They were mainly queen, but my bed is a king and my fishing buddy got a California king as a wedding gift. They are all made from 5/4 or 6/4 red oak. I started making them with a slatted footboard but found it was too hard to tuck the duvet behind the slats. The later model beds have just a short footer that attach to the sideboards. I also went to a bed bolt that holds the tenon tight. To cover the bed bolt I cut a teardrop out of a koa burl. On three of the beds I incorporated an elk or a fishing scene made with an epoxy inlay. That seems to help my dreams.

Well done.
