Project Information

Football trophy was made of ash and mahogany. Ball diameter 13cm, 7mm thick. Pyrography - leters and ball segments, finish spray laquer. 10 degree angle groove was made on tablesaw.
It was a gift for one 4th grade elementary school studend, given by whole class and his teacher, who is moving to another school next school year (he trained and played football, ofcourse).

He's gonna have trouble dribbling that flat ball maj. At least it won't roll away when he tries to kick it. Lucky he didn't play Aussie rules (or gridiron), otherwise you'd have to learn how to cut an oval ball.

Still, a neat job for a wog-ball trophy.

Nice work Ivan. There is a game of handball, too and that is played by swatting the ball with your hand.

Cheers, Jim

Not true maj... most of you humans have 2 feet and 2 hands… then you have the unfortunate "paras" which (without offence) tip the scales… after all a foot job doesn't sound as good as a hand job… and before people scream for censors… most work with their hands.

Hey, here in Australia… we paly Aussie rules… isn't it the popular item of the current day to appease the minority… You should ALL play Aussie rules… in that game we cuss and sledge with our mouths.

Ivan great job !!!

LBD - Do they play rugby over there. I was too large and slow to play what we call soccer and excelled in our version of what we call football. While in college someone asked if I would like to play a little rugby and I said sure. BIG mistake, it was like playing our football, only on steroids and WITHOUT pads. Last time I ever played that death sport, took forever to heal. LOL. Mike

Looks like we don't belong on this forum mel52... I'm a duck and you're a pussy!

Anyway, rugby is for thugs, Aussie rules (or as others call it Aerial ping-pong) is the sport of the rugged elite.

Nice trophy Ivan, well done!

If American football were to remove the helmets, shoulder/body pads, specialty players so anyone can handle to ball it would look more like soccer or Australian football and there would probably fewer injuries and less brain damage to the players.
