As a kid I fished with jitterbugs a lot. I’ve still got a very old and failing one in my tackle box from 50+ years ago. I decided to make myself one the other day. It’s made of cedar and has a frog motif to it. It’s a top water lure and pops back and forth when retrieved. As usual everything is handmade except the hooks.

-- The smell of wood, coffee in the cup, the wife let's me do my thing, the lake is peaceful.

As a fly tier I appreciate this on a whole other level. As a woodworker, I appreciate it for part of our craft. Nice work.
