So My friend approached me to have me make him a magic wand with a secret compartment. This compartment would hold the engagement ring that he would use to propose to his girlfriend at the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter at Universal , Orlando. I started by power carving the logs into the rough shape with an angle grinder, then finished the handle off with the dremel, and finally sandpaper. It looks like Olivander has some competition. Great job. What kind of wood was that? The grain is beautiful. Thanks for posting.

Thanks guys! It turned out well and i was really excited to be a part of their story! The handles were both made of oak. The tip was spalted oak as well as the handle with the spiral pattern. The shorter handle was a traditional red oak log.
