I was gathering up some of the smaller pieces of wood to make room for some wood I just purchased when I remembered I need to go ahead and get started making up some of these. These decorative trivets are one of the most requested items for Christmas I have ever made. People like to get them and send them to others for unusual gifts. All the ladies seem to love them and want several for their home. I usually make them up in batches from the scraps of larger projects.

Really like the random order for the scraps. Lots of interest there.

I made a simple sled to run the squares through the dado blades at 45 degrees instead of having the cuts parallel to the trivet edges.

Thanks. I have done some 45 degree small square trivets. But when I do the bigger ones I do them at 90. I guess I will have to make a bigger 45 degree sled.
