I made this bench in 2016. The top is made out of hard maple food prep tables from WWII. The base is made out of Douglas Fur. Joinery is draw bored M&T throughout. The top is 5.75inchs thick, I think I could park a mack truck on this thing. Later I added benchcrafted leg vise hardware with updated chop and then the drawers underneath. Many nights were spent with my oldest at the bench creating things out of wood. It’s the center of my shop and has given birth to some great projects.

That’s fantastic. My kids are still a little young but getting close- I hope I get to spend as much time at my bench with them as you did with yours.

Really nice bench! Mine is about half-way along, and I have wondered about the double horizontals l used on the ends of the frame. Glad to see someone else thinks like I do.
