Walnut Desk

Started this desk back in January and life and apathy intervened and turned this into an almost 6 month project…finally finished it a few weeks ago and then procrastinated to bring it into the house and set it up lol.

Had a few difficulties with this project; unlike the few other projects I’ve done with epoxy, the bubbles in this epoxy pour proved very difficult to eliminate and/or repair. As well, this slab was terribly warped and I spent a significant amount of time just trying to flatten it.

Overall I’m happy with the result. Now just need to sell it and then move on to the next project.

Walnut and spalted maple with Minwax “tung” oil finish.

Very attractive piece.
Well done.

I really like the top and especially the drawers but not so much the skinny legs.

Woo-wee! I’m about to start building a desk for our currently-being-remodeled office. I may have to use a walnut slab that I’ve had kicking around for the top! Thanks for the inspiration and such a beautiful desk.
