Red Cedar Bowl

More specifically, this is a bowl from a Western Red Cedar burl, which I can get from loggers in this area. No nice smell like Aromatic Cedar.

Diameter 11.25”. Height 4.5”.

Salad bowl finish.

I finished this bowl at my daughters. She liked the flared lip on it and kept it. I’m always happy to give them another bowl.

Awesome grain in that bowl John. I agree, nothing like the aromatic cedar but it still smells fresh.

Nice work! Was the material dry when you worked the piece? I am developing some sources for red cedar in the north central sierras of California. Really a nice piece. brian
