A finial box, based on and original design by Cindy Drozda. This box is about 3-1/2” tall and 2” in diameter, made of black walnut with a cherry inlay and base.
These little boxes are actually quite challenging (I’m still not satisfied with my finials), are good ‘skill-builders’, and fun to turn.
Cindy Drozda is an excellent demonstrator, and she is now offering a series of remote demos for individuals. For more info, check out her website: http://cindydrozda.com/html/Demo.html

Very nice, did you use the wagner tool on the inside of the lid?

As usual, your work is exceptional. What on earth could be wrong with the finial? I would like to see your collection of turnings.

You are correct!
I think it is a little bit heavy … would prefer it to be a little more delicate. I tend to chicken out when I’m turning thin spindles for fear of breaking them.
