Noodle board for ma. Ma wants a noodle board she gets one lol. First time making one. It will get some kind of design on it. She hasn’t decided yet. This one is raised for gas stove burners. Measured it out and still had to make some adjustments after we tried it out. So measure closely if yourself or someone else makes one. Fun little project for beginners or everyday guys with very little expense

okay! Since no one else has the nerve to ask. What the heck is a noodle board? What you created, and I’m sure others will agree something we would consider looks like a very attractive serving tray or breakfast table. Which is it and tell us it’s purpose. Inquiring minds want to know.

My Best,

I was curious too, from an advert on Amazon:

Custom made noodle board for electric or gas glasstop or coil stovetops. Made from Pine wood. These decorative boards are used to provide a decorative elegance for your glass stove top when not in use. They are also functional for bakers and are large enough to accommodate a rolling pin and make great serving trays!

No idea what it has to do with noodles though.

Take care and stay safe,

Grant.

a noodle board is essentially a great big board with Breadboard ends and an apron on one edge to hook to a countertop or tabletop to work dough on. The Name comes from back when noodles were made by hand and cut with a knife, which needs a massive board to fit the dough on it.
The boards have been modified to fit modern stove tops. It is more just for looks and decorative now. A lot of them have last names, initials or sayings on the large surface. If you google noodle board you will see a plethora of different designs and modifications.

when I grew up, they were a common piece in most kitchens.
my grandmother had one that she made biscuits and pie crusts on.
this is still one project on my “to do” list. (just for myself).
well done !!
