This is a wing motion machine I did a while ago, Its mostly Oak, with a bunch of different scrap wood for small parts

You crank the handle and the wing flaps in a convincing manner via a wooden chain and a drive rod and hinged 2 part wing.

wow – that’s quite a contraption
the old barn lap style joinery with pins (to me) are impressive especially in mini construction and the chain – don’t know what to say about that other than congratulations

Really amazing build, Bill. As Dick mentioned, that chain is something else! Wow.

Thanks a bunch folks. I still have not figured out the video thing, I can take them but don’t have a YouTube channel so I need to create that. I’m not real savvy on internet or computer stuff. I find it extremely confusing and frustrating most of the time.

I am an “organic ” builder (?)...I guess. I just get an idea and chase it down. I like drawing and have done some planning for things, but I really just like diving into whatever I am doing. It typically leads me to dead ends and sometimes insurmountable challenges, but I have put projects to the side for multiple years until I just get a little inspiration and finish it. Sometimes I just see the whole deal in my head from the start, and just build it as I see it in my head.
