wow i passed this up earlier,what a mistake that was.i can only guess how much that amboynia burl costs to do that box,hell a pen blank can run 25 bucks.just simply beautiful work.did you cut the vaneer yourself?amazing work.

I’m also glad Steve pointed out the video link or I would have missed it completely! It is inspiring to see how something so beautiful is created (I’m a newbie to the world of marquetry – it will be a while before I’ll be posting anything…)
The box was bigger than I expected and all the detail work with the base and the inside was very informative.

The box was bigger than I expected and all the detail work with the base and the inside was very informative.

The Amoynia was actually given to me and I was told it was left over from Steve Jobs private jet. MY friend veneered the inside of his plane.

well i guess the issue of cost doesn’t play in this case.finally had time to check out your video,that was an incredible veneer job,more patience than i have.
