Router Table

My first shop project, this router table followed the purchase of my table saw and dust extractor. I was terrified of using a large router by hand, so the table was a must for me. The Incra fence is brilliant, and made these dovetail joints – my first ever. Now I do them by hand, mainly because I enjoy the process so much, and I like challenging myself.
I wanted an industrial look, so went with the OSB as infill on the sides and panels for the drawers and cupboard doors. The red painted highlights match other pieces in my garage/workshop including my mechanics tool chest. I’ve since used OSB together with red highlights in my drill press, and my belt/disc sander

G’day, mate,
Real nice router station, Michael. Nice design and hardware. I see you have a lock miter bit. you’ll love that one. It requires a good fence. Do you have a router lift in the cabinet?

Cheers, Jim

Hey Jim,
Thank you. I didn’t start with a router lift, but started with the Triton which had access to its own lift from above the table. This satisfied me for quite a while, but ultimately it was difficult to micro adjust. The router lift and suitable routers have recently become available – so I went ahead. Really happy – they work really well. I just kept the additional tools on the table – in the way! So that bought on the shelf project.
I haven’t used the mitre lock bit as yet – was a gift. The Incra fence is wonderful – I have the extension for it as well, so the fence should be good for this bit as well.
I’m pretty new to LJ, but it seems to be a great community.
Cheers,
Michael

Nice table and I like the Incra. I also use the Triton for my router table. It’s a beast and the adjustments pretty easy are for the most part. It’s a pleasure to use once things are setup,

Allboard Distributors will supply Mitre 10, perhaps that’ll work in Brisbane…
Good luck.
