So, I am moving and part of that process is to get rid of leftover wood. So, I made contact with a friend of mine and through that conversation found he had his uncles burial flag. So, I offered to make him a flag box and he accepted.
This is the end result. For those not knowing the flag case dimensions it basically works out to 10 3/4” tall by 25 1/4 wide and about 3 1/4” thick when folded. Using only 45 degree angle cuts, the two top pieces work out to roughly 17 1/4” long. Once these two pieces are joined at the top it is a quick measurement to figure out the length of the bottom piece. Once I cut all the pieces to accommodate the internal dimensions of the flag, I cut a 1/4” X 1/4” relief on the inside front of the pieces to rest the plexiglas. Then I cut the front cover pieces which hold in the plexiglass. Then I cut a piece of luan for the back.
