So, a friend of mine had replaced his queen sized bed with a King size bed. He only purchased the matress and box spring. Then they asked me if I would be able to build a king size frame for their new matress set. I agreed. The total cost for this project was $163.00 which was their cost. No labor, no other charges, just the cost of materials which they reimbursed me for. They do an awful lot for our local VFW and it was the least I could do, and a labor of love. The wife had only one request which was to have a moose on the head board. So I put my creative juices to work and came up with heart that has the head of a male moose on one side and the female on the other side. All out of pine. The heart was drawn out on a piece of paper, burnt into the headboard, then traced onto thin clear plastic. Once traced, I put some scraps together andput the traced picture on the scraps wood and cut out with a scroll saw. Once it was cut out I added relief features to make it more interesting. Then I glued the finished heart over the wood burnt outline and screwed it from the back.
