Another winter project finished up lately. Cherry, built from a FWW article that is tapered and beveled at every angle. Legs are 7/4 with top beveled and tapered 4/4. The stretchers are blind mortised and pinned with cherry dowels. Held together with kreig screws on the inside.
Finished with Tried&true danish oil several coats.

The website likes to sideways photos on everyone, not the poster’s fault
Krueger screws are fine by me mate, no joinery snobbery here
Good job

Sweet looking bench jc066, Several things I like about it – Cherry is one of my favorite woods to work with love seeing the sap wood, the design is pretty cool, and I use Kreig Screws!

Thanks all,
Cherry is one of my favourite woods as well, mostly due to the “patina” that forms as it ages.
The Kreig screw are a good idea on this design as getting the bench seats slats in the right spot was tough. I had to test and adjust a few times and that would be impossible if I had used a pin Dowel or a blind dowel.
I’ll reference the FWW article when I find it. Cheers
