Quick build to make Father in Law a hearing aid box. Wanted to try bandsaw, magnets, shellac and flocking. Need more practice on shellac finish.

Sweet little box.
How’d you finish it? I know you used shellac, was there stain and/or poly involved?
I’ve gotten nice matte finishes using shellac and buffing with brown paperbag paper then wax.
Your box looks pretty nice in the pics though.
Nice job.

Maybe I should have buffed, but I did not, several coats and used 320 in between. Thank you for your kind words.

Very nice. I know some friends that could use one of those. How big is it, and did you cut the top off???

-- Joel, People ask what I make. I tell them I make sawdust, and now and then a nice box or frame,or clock, or lamp pops out.

Length and width a bit smaller than 3×5. Used 2 inch forstner bit for holes and used compass around it to get shape. Yes, used new bandsaw and fence to cut off top. This was a learning process and practice for me.
