some kleenex boxes ive been wanting to make ever since i saw some made by my good friend tony, aka, wood shaver.mine arn’t quite as sofisticated as his though,no fancy secret latches hiding high powered kleenex that will blow off your head besides your nose! mine are made from maple burl for the tops, walnut with a maple inlay and padauk with maple splines for the body.all the box wood was resawn to 3/8” with a 3/4” base.the top stay’s aligned with simple dowels.the finish is general finishes semi gloss wipe on,quickly becoming my fav.the corners of the box are 45 motered.1/4” rubber bumpers on the base.any questions ask.comments good or critical welcome always.peace and stay safe jocks.

Nicely done, pottz. I like the inset top and the way you used the dowels to stabilize it on the base.

The hole in the top is too big, the maple burl is way too nice for the top,
The walnut doesn’t go with the padauk,
probably should have used 4 splines, three is never going to hold.
What the heck did you finish it with? probably going to peel off in a week.

Ha Ha Ha, just bustin your chops,
Looks great, I like the wood combinations.
I bet the hardest part was lining up the small dowels hold the box onto the bottom?

Nice work pottz

ok lets take it one comment at a time.
i think your right the hole shoild be more oval’
the walnut does go with the paduak,so i disagree with that one.
4 splines no you always go with odd numbers, you know that!
general finishes arm r seal, you know better on that too?
and ha ha gettin back at ya!
thank you bud.

Aother great pottzy creation… love your blend of timbers contrasting timbers…

Could call it a nice protective astle for that precious tissues… you must be rich to have tissue with a ”S”... though you deftfully avioded the issue by referring to then as klenex and not klenexes. With the shortage, maybe you should have packed it with a 45 like the ’shaver, or at least put a moat around it.
And then you go on an say boxes (with that capitalist ”S”)... if the rest of the boxes are orphaned you are pardoned, but if populated, I’ll sick the hording police onto you.

..... the box are 45 motered....
any questions ask
- pottz

What’s a motered? Does that have anything to do with post birth breast-feeding?...

PS. Hey buddy, we can go ape-shit on your post…
