Singer Base Box

Simple project for my wife. This was her mother’s sewing machine base. I took an old drawer, cut the top and bottom so I was left with 4 sides. Put in a 3/4” plywood bottom, added the lid and hinges. Voila, simple box. I may add compartments inside for various items….

IU am old enough to have actually seen those being used to sew with, my mother had a Singer tredle machine for many years.

Very nice save and great idea for reuse too!

Back when, I used to buy them at auction, and flip them. Never thought to make something out of a base. Lord knows there were a lot of just bases around too.

Interesting tabletop storage space.
