This watch box was made as a back up to the Children’s Hospital auction box I made. Sure enough my friend was out smarted, when another bidder took the buy it now price of $550.

Since he have so much to the hospital, I am going to give him this as a thank you. The Sides are some kind of Rose Wood (but I am not positive). Top is curly walnut.

The “Pete’s feet” are made from laminations of yellow heart, and the rose wood. Then cut into 45 deg. and 35 degree then two pieces are glued together . Then the two halves are beveled at 45 deg. with my sled with hold down clamps. Then those two halves are glued together to form a corner. Then feet are then glued to the box. The knob is ebony.

The finish is Lin Seed oil. Still working on that!

Be safe everyone and thanks for looking

-- Petey

Nicely done work for the auction Pete. It is better to give and you are a kind person.

Great looking box Petey!

The wood choices are tops and the Pete’s-feet remind me of baby bird mouths (gotta worm? 8^)

Nice work and I like the feet. Yesterday I got a shipment of two sheets of Walnut
packed between two sheets of OSB. $170.00 crazy what things cost.
