I built this for my son’s girl-friend. She is a very giving person so it was hard to get her to tell us what she wanted for Christmas. She thought she was being sly when she told me all she wanted was a box full of Love. So, wanting to give her exactly what she wanted, I got several people to write letters of encouragement and love to her and put them in the Chest. I only had plywood to build with so, I decided to paint it. I used a sprayer from Harbor Frieght so it would have a nice smooth finish. I lined the inside with cedar wood and finished it of with brass fittings. She was so surprized and honored by all the people who cared enough to write her letters. She never thought I would actually give her a box full of love. She is so worth all the effort. It turned out just like I wanted it to.

Oh man, that’s what we are talking about. Idea….... talent and love behind it…... A perfect gift. nice story, nice work …...... the added value to the giver and recipient. I’m sure it was time well spent for you and something that will mean much to her as years roll by.
Way to go.

WoW!! Great Idea, it’s not every day that a girl gets a hope chest from her boyfriends dad….

A box full of love, there could be no better gift than that. It is very beautiful, and I know that she will treasure it always.
