Drink holder on cleat

In my new shop, I put cleats up on two of the four walls to hold things. This morning, I started building things to hang on the cleats. The result is this drink holder. Important stuff while I’m unpacking and organizing the shop!

Nothing too fancy. A few pieces of pallet wood, and two folding drink-holders I picked up years ago.

Happy Easter!

Yeah, Bob & Larry. Nothing worse than accidentally knocking over your drink because it’s sitting in the way. A place for everything, and everything in its place!

Good work Dave but there seems to be some images missing of the top Cleat stuff?

Only you Dave! Made me laugh!!! Though you are probably right about the idea of knocking over a drink (coffee or beer) so I will have to ponder that a bit more. I may have to rethink this a bit…

Top cleat, Rob?

Mike, need to avoid accidents in the shop!

Ducky, I don’t know, but if they do, I’m sure a solidly mounted cleat would hold it.

That’s thinking Dave, first things first. I installed 2 more on my boat yesterday, they look the same. The boat is dry dock now while I’m doing some work on it but doesn’t mean I can’t have a brew-ski. Cheers my friend.

Thanks, gents. I had four of those plastic drink holders screwed into various things in the shop back in Minneapolis. Unscrewed them and threw them in a bag that ended up in one of the boxes of stuff that I unpacked this morning. And I almost spilled my soda setting that box on my (very full) bench to unpack it, so I took it as a sign from the shop gods that it was time to up my game.

The new avatar is just a crop from one of my shop photos. I kept getting my shadow in frame, and the swap guys were giving me a hard time about the cowboy in my photos. So there I am.

Ducky, no worries. At about 20 stone, almost nobody calls me “little.”

Seems like a useful first bracket.
