Hi All,
Well, this is my version of a work sharp sharpening station. I wanted to leave the front open To access the chisel angle settings, and be able to free hand sharpen from underneath, if I wanted to, so my platform comes in from the back.
It also has two drawer storage underneath and disc storage in the back. I also built an auxiliary out rigger to guide in touching up scrapers and scraper plane blades at 45 degrees.
The platform frame has cutouts to give me access to the back hold down screws for shimming ect.
The disc storage is in the back. This comes out.
The outrigger has a 90 degree support at one end and a 45 support at the other.
It works really well for keeping scrapers at 90 degrees while touching them up.
all in all I’m very happy with the work sharp and the station I made. I can keep everything nice and sharp without the bursitis in my shoulder screaming at me. Thanks for looking. Jim

Excellent! I’m looking at making a station for mine, and this is very nice. Beats piling the discs back in their shipping box.

Excellent work Jim! Great ideas that I haven’t seen before with the outrigger and the tray for disc storage :-))

NO KIDDING! That’s what I’ve been doing, and it’s a pain. Gotta get something built for this thing…
Good ideas Jim. Thanks for sharing.

The deck from behind like you have here is how the much sought after WS platform sits. All the other storage is bonus gravy. That “outrigger” is fabulous.
Nice build Jim.
