Another project from the Fine woodworking magazines. This is a design by Mike Pekovich that I thought would be a fun build. I learned quite a bit doing this project. First time making my own dowels and first piece of furniture that I have ever build that didn’t use any glue in the joinery.

Looks nice. There is something going on with those side stretchers that looks interesting but I can’t quite make it out. They look curved or something.

Very nice. NO glue? How?

-- Joel, People ask what I make. I tell them I make sawdust, and now and then a nice box or frame,or clock, or lamp pops out.

Drawbores, the two boards used for the top are joined with a spline and pinned through the spline…

You nailed the “Fine,” for sure. And that piece is totally working with the colors of the wall and floor.

Cord wrapped stretchers I assume?

Looks great! I like the designs of floating tops, they lighten up everything 8^)

Nice job on that. I have been thinking about building this one myself. In fact I just pulled out that issue of FW the other day to study the plans.

It was a fun build! I would love to see what yours looks like when you get it completed.
