This was another roughed out blank laying in the barn that I finished for lack of projects.
It is maple with a lot of inclusions in it all over and none were filled…it is as natural as when it was cut about 3 years ago. It is 5 1/4” in diameter and 4” high and finished with satin poly!

Cheers, Jim

Jim, I think I prefer the natural look as opposed to the tourquise filler, good looking vessel

If I had a piece of wood like that, I would be able to show off some excellent natural edged sawdust and shavings . LOL. Excellent job !!! Mel

Looking good mate, Love the Natural finish.

Bob

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Thank you all for the nice comments. This one is a gift for someone!

Hi John. I think the pink may have come from a back light I had on while taking the photo. it is pretty white and that is the way I wanted to keep it so I did not try Danish oil on it for fear of darkening it a bit.

Hi Mark. I guess I would not call that bark as such. it is like an outgrowth of the wood- like a burl. It has stayed on for 3 years so I left it alone.

Cheers, Jim
