Open-segment bowl turning made from Black Walnut, Sapele, ash, and Peruvian walnut. Finished with a home-brewed shellac based friction polish.

Interestin design T’NW.... did you use a square turning chisel to get those holes in the bowl?

-- If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

I have pretty good patience, but I don’t think I would be able to glue that up even if I knew how. Excellent job !!! Mel

LBD – He used those new fangled square drill bits to do the holes. LOL

The square turning chisel idea is intriguing’ but I glued up each piece individually using some printed templates and an indexer I made that doubles as a clamp as I glue each layer. I included a couple extra pictures that I took prior to turning.

A little time spent on an indexer and a wedgie sled for your table saw and you’d be surprised how easy it is. I dare ya!
