I recently bought a lathe. Instead of getting tools with handles I ordered the bars and Cutters without handles from KelleyCrafts(excellent tools). I bought some cherry and I belive bloodwood or rosewood in 2×2x18 blanks from rockler. I then cut these in half and put dadoes in each side for the tool to fit in. Then I glued them back together. The jocks in the swap didnt like my choice for ferrule material so GrantA sent me some different material to use as well as some wood and a mini lathe. I went with copper ferrules. Turned the handles to a shape I liked. Drulled holes in the copper and epoxied the copper on the handles. After the epoxy had plenty of time to cure I wet sanded it with my micro mesh pads to polish the copper. Finished the hanldes with Mylands friction polish. Thanks to all the jocks that helped me with this project on the forums.

Nice work Keebs. You’re gonna love using those tools. Having nice handles that you made yourself will make it even better :-))
