This goes back many years when Uncle Henry was a little boy on the farm.
While doing his farm chores he was accidentally kicked by a young calf while he was giving it some milk. Being a tough little farm boy he took the kick in stride never telling his parents of the mishap. But time preserved this incident and his ankle expressed the injury. So he hobbled throughout his life and his boots reflected that fateful day.
This basswood boot is a recreation of Uncle Henry’s boot. Despite his injury, Uncle Henry remained tough till his dying days and I am proud to share this story with you.
Moral of the story: Never throw away a piece of rotten wood!
